# Home

> Use Home to find data you created, data shared with you, organization data, and public data.

Home is the starting point for the projects, collections, and assets you can access.

## Home sections

Home groups visible rows by how you can access them.

| Section           | What appears there                                                                                                                                  |
| ----------------- | --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- |
| **My area**       | Projects, collections, and assets you created or own, plus items shared directly with you, one of your groups, or a project where you are a member. |
| **Organization**  | Items you can access only because you belong to the owning organization.                                                                            |
| **Public access** | Items available through public read-only access, unless they are yours or directly shared with you.                                                 |

If you created data and later make it public, it stays in **My area**. If data is
in your organization and is also public, it appears in **Public access** unless
you own it or have direct access.

## Show or hide sections

Use the Home toggles to choose which sections are visible:

* **My Projects** shows or hides **My area**.
* Your organization name, or **Org Shared** when more than one organization applies, shows or hides **Organization**.
* **Public** shows or hides **Public access**.

Dataerai remembers your toggle choices on this browser.

## Open items from Home

Select a row to see details in the side panel. Double-click a project or
collection to open it. In **List view**, collections can expand inline so you can
preview nested collections and assets without leaving Home.

If Home has more assets than the first page, click **Continue loading files** to
load the next page.

## Sharing changes where rows appear

Changing permissions can move an item between sections the next time Home
refreshes:

* Share directly with a person or group to place the item in their **My area**.
* Share through organization membership to place it in **Organization**.
* Turn on public access to place it in **Public access** for people who do not
  already own or directly access it.
